Workshop details:
Learning outcomes:
Directors, Trustees and CEO workshop
- Clarity of the board’s own job
- Confidence to govern with one voice but deliberate with many
- How the board creates the linkage between the organisation and community/owners
- How to proactively ensure unacceptable situations do not occur
- Assuring valuable board time is spent on the most important things.
Funders and sector leaders workshop
- Clarity of the boards role versus CEO’s
- How to assess if an organisation has effective governance
- Appropriate funder relationships across the organisation
- How funders can assist (or create problems for) organisations.
Who should come?
The funders & sector leaders workshop is aimed at sectors that support and agencies that fund organisations, especially organisations where governance is or should be crucial. The interaction between funders, management and boards is often a complex one. This workshop will empower you to clarify and lead sound governance arrangements.
The board members and CEO workshop is aimed at those who want their board to adopt best-practice governance. More than one board member from an organisation is encouraged to attend. This greatly assists the transfer of learning to the organisation. A $100 discount is offered off the third and subsequent registration fee from the same board.
Good morning!
A few days I enquired as to whether the two courses would be run in November. I would like to attend the Board course on Tuesday the 20th of Oct but am unable to attend the Wednesday course for the 21st. Can you advise if I would be able to receive the information/material related to the funders and sector leaders?
Regards
Vanessa Whiu

Hi Vanessa, thanks for your enquiry, at this stage we are not looking to run the courses again until 2010 but this is subject to interest. There would be no problem providing you with the information for the funder specific workshop and I would be very happy to take you through that on the 20th. Regards Sandy
